It wasn't raining when we left the site but with half an hour it was coming down quite fast. Its always good to have a purpose for a trip out apart from trying to admire the scenery and so Noel came up with the idea that as we have missed the last few years Caravan Shows and not seen the latest models that an hour at a a dealer might be interesting.
Nearby to Burnham there are two dealers and we visited one and looked at some Bailey and Eldis and also Buccaneer caravan’s and what we noticed is how much darker are the internal cupboards than ours which makes the caravan seem much darker overall. Some did not even have a window in the bathroom and relied on extractor fans which we did not thinks was a good idea.We have no intention of changing our van but it is always good to see what's new. From there we went to Burnham on sea and past the Pontins Holiday camp and also there were loads of what they call caravan parks along the same road but they are mostly static homes with lots of little boxes one after another. It was still raining but we were beginning to get hungry and stopped by a seaside cafĂ© for a bacon and egg bap and a cuppa, quite good really and not to expensive.
We drove back to via the town of Street and passed by the Clarks Shopping Centre which we will visit tomorrow. By the time we got back to the caravan the sun was out and as its comfortable in the van we both had a little mid afternoon sleep.
Following the good lunch we decided to just have smoked salmon on French toast with a glass of wine for dinner and then watched a recent Michael Cane film about robbing a bank vault, what another one!!!
NB will post all photos next week when we have a much faster connection.
