Our Normandy Home |
We did visit the local market on Friday morning for some local food and was able to have two nights of BBQ one with steak and one with fish.
Yesterday and extremely large odd shaped van turned up with twin axles and it looks more like a mobile home than a caravan and it is towed by a Swiss Registered Mercedes, how it pulls this weight I don't know but surely it must be quite dangerous.
Also yesterday a British couple arrived and put their van right next to ours which is really strange as there about 100 empty placements and then they mentioned that their son would be arriving on Saturday and will park on the other side of us. It also turns out he runs lots of caravan rally's where many people turn up and so we think it must be the cow herding instinct in him to park next to us. Anyway will turn up the music, A little bit of Deep Purple may not go amiss. Got to be careful though as understand his son is European Parts Manager for Toyota. So we have two Land Cruisers and a RAV 4 all within spitting distance. Oh Such is life.
In the meantime we have booked our next two caravan sites, one near Saumer in the Western Loire and the other in the Dordogne, we shall be spending six nights at both places prior to moving on the the Lot valley.
But in the meantime we shall be having lunch near Le Havre next Monday with the French couple we have met for years and then we shall head off back to Weybridge for one night to handle some personal matters and then return again on Tuesday to Normandy. Talk about cheap ferries, car and two pax return Dunkirk/Dover/Dunkirk for £ 22.00 oh plus fifty five pence for use of credit card.
Anyway lets hope the sun keeps shining.
