It was rather nice being able to decide what time we would have breakfast rather than the need to follow the rules of the Hotels, with some finishing at 9.30 am and other 11.00 but on the Lodge we could do what we want. So we had breakfast around 10.30 and enjoyed the quiet and caught up with emails ret before jumping back in to the car to do a tour of the lakes, we thought.
On the map there was a line indicating what we thought was a road going around the Lake ( reservoir} and so we followed the route and had to enter a Parking lot before continuing only to find that the so called road was only for pedestrians and bikes and so there is no road around the lake from which you can see the lake itself, this was a bit of let down. So we got out the map and followed several roads as close the lake as we could and then stumbled upon a Garden Centre which had a café, very new its seems, and so we entered and had a nice lunch sort of overlooking the lake providing you stood on one leg…
Following lunch we departed for the nearest shops so we could purchase a snack for the evening and we located a Tesco where cheese, bread and some wine and water were purchased before we headed back to the Lodge for a relaxing afternoon . We were a bit disappointed about the lake not being visible and next time be more prepared for walking etc. In the evening we were watching a fil and there was this almighty bang which as first we thought was a fuse blowing but we then discovered that the gold driving range was next door and somebody had hot the ball over the side netting and on the rood of the Lodge.
And so to bed.
