The third Annual Parrot Club boat trip

The members of the local South East England  branch of the Globally famous Parrot Club met for their annual day on the River Thames on Saturday 9th of April and what a great day it was.
The weather during the past few days has been fantastic and really not like England at all but never mind it made for a wonderful day out. Following a 'bacon sarni' at John and Lyns house the intrepid six set out up stream in the 'Griffin de la Mer' a lovely 30 foot boat with a great history. This classic boat was unearthed at the end of the second world war near Harrow and close to the famous school. It was completely refurbished and used by the Royal family instil, the Second World War when Winston  Churchill confiscated it and used it as his own until D-Day when the present owners helped the forces return to to Dover after a military disaster. Today this boat plods up and down the River Thames each weekend awash with Red Wine and fun.
On the other hand Roger and Sue had just returned to the Uk by ship from Singapore where Roger was able to assist the Captain find the correct Canal and avoid the challenges of Tripoli and other Middle East Countries currently being rocked by internal fighting. Having understood how to repel small arms fire from the Somali pirates and taught how to use an AK47 Sue was really ready to take them on particularly after here Marines workout.
This third annual Parrot Club event was attended by the Honorary General in Charge and his lady Jennifer and the other main board members John and Lyn and Roger and Sue. After an hour ort so heading no where it seemed we arrived at 'The Wharf' restuarant in Twickenham sur la Thames and demolished some excellent wine with the occasional bit of food. With bodies full of energy and Chilean Malbec we head back to the great port of Sunbury upon Thames where we moved en-masse to the Verekcker Estate where additional wine and food was consumed.
