Our Second Day in Christchurch

A view of the River Avon in Christchurch, including punt.

After a good nights rest we picked up the hire car. This was a bit of a saga as we had ordered, as per their website, a new Toyota RAV4 only to be met with a 4 year old Rav 4. After heavy discussions they gave us a newish Toyota Camry instead.
This was followed by some brief shopping and then back to the Hotel to drop off the car.

We left the Hotel and walked through the park where we had our 'sarnies' for lunch then continued until we came to the Christchurch Botanical gardens. The trees and shrubs were fantastic and so was the rose garden.

There were some great trees including one Eucalyptus which was about 15 feet across and very high, see photograph of Jennifer by its side.
We walked around town and went on the Tram which runs around the middle of the City before walking through the middle of town.

The Street Buskers were back in force and we watched two black American guys from Los Angeles, called
The Black Street Boyz' they were great and we even bought a DVD. Some of the humour was great and quite

direct,but not rude.

We had dinner on the main restaurant area overlooking the park, there was a great three piece band playing whist we were there and 'boy' could they sing. We tried to get back into the Venue where we were the previous evening for the Street Buskers, but it was full and so we went to the Cinema instead.
A good day out.
