Sunday 29th October- Sarasota Market Day

After a good three mile walk we headed in to town to do some shopping at the food market we visited the other day. We arrived at Main Street to find that there was a small market taking place with many artists displaying their wares. Some of the painting and photographs were extremely good.
We took the opportunity to take a few more pictures of the statues that are around town, all with a circus theme. All this was due to the Ringling Brother Circus Group being from around these parts.
On the way back to the apartment we noticed some ‘Open house’ signs (For Sale) in The Meadows and so we took a look and visited two. Both were very nice but price wise were quite cheap compared to the prices in London. In fact prices are dropping and will continue to drop for some time due to over building and the cost of insurance in
Florida. One house we saw had three bedrooms, two bathrooms and nice views over the golf course all for about GBP 200 K, fifty thousand pounds cheaper than a two bed apartment in Stretton Lodge (The Gables) in Wey Road. WOW.
