Saturday 21 October- A beautiful day

Jennifer is still suffering from a cold, no doubt caught on the flight over, and so we have been a little slow doing things over the past week but we hope to make up for it this weekend.

In the morning we went shopping for some speakers for our I-Pod so that we could listen to our own music. We ended up in Walmart with a JBL set which works quite well. In the afternoon our friends Adrian and Joyce arrived down from Indian Shores as we were all going to the Clearwater Yacht Club function on Saturday night at ‘Marina Jacks’ a popular local watering hole, this event takes place every year. Those with boats sail or power down the coast from Clearwater to Sarasota and tie up in the Marina. Other members of the club who don’t come down by boat are known as the Land Cruiser group as they drive down.

Marina Jacks is right in the middle of the harbour and surrounded by boats costing a few million bucks I guess and certainly a little bit larger than our boat ‘Piplin Two’ which is about 8 feet long.

It was a very nice evening and we were made to feel most welcome, the party had a disco at the end of the evening and so we rocked the night away, well until 10pm when the music stopped.

The tables had eight places and the couple next to me were very nice although we could not see eye to eye on how clever and brilliant Tony Blair is. He thought the General in charge of the UK armed forces should be shot for treason!, following his recent comments about the war in Iraq, at this stage it seemed safer to go back to the merits of English football.

Anyway a nice evening in a great location, we will go back again for a drink one evening.
